Waiting areas are used by different people all day long, so the furniture there needs to be durable, easy to clean and tidy-looking.
What is beam seating?
Beam seating consists of seats lined up side by side on a shared metal frame. It looks tidier than single chairs, doesn't slide around and takes less time to clean around.
Two- and three-seat options
Tilia's beam seating has an integrated metal-legged frame, a connecting piece and plastic seats:
- Eos-X2 and Eos-X3: 142 cm wide, 46 cm seat height
- Laser-X3: Matt, textured seat surface
- Upholstered option: Eos-X3 Pad, with fabric-covered seats for a warmer look
According to the product data, the metal parts are finished with solvent-free powder coating and the fasteners are stainless.
Plastic or upholstered?
- Plastic seats: Easy to wipe in clinics and public areas where hygiene comes first.
- Upholstered seats: More comfortable and warmer-looking in hotel lobbies and office receptions.
Layout tips
- Keep walkways and doorways clear.
- Place units parallel to walls or facing each other; a side table in between organises the space.
- Leave free space for wheelchair users and visitors with prams.
Alternatives for lobbies and offices
For a more relaxed waiting corner, consider armchairs and sofas, such as Rapido's Modul with a wooden frame and cut foam. For meeting rooms and visitors, the height-adjustable Tux is an option.
