Hotel restaurants fill and empty several times a day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Chairs are constantly pulled and pushed, wiped often and frequently moved between the terrace and the dining room.
Priorities
- Durability: A frame that withstands several services a day
- Easy cleaning: A surface where food stains wipe off quickly
- Comfort: Comfortable seating for long dinners too
- Consistency: The same or matching models in the dining room and on the terrace
With or without arms?
Armchairs are more comfortable for long sittings such as dinner; armless chairs sit closer to the table and fit more guests in the same space. Many hotels choose armless chairs for the breakfast room and armchairs for the à la carte restaurant.
Example models
- Octa: Armchair in UV-stabilised, pigmented, glass-fibre polypropylene; stacks 11 high according to the product data.
- Royal: Armchair with a rattan-textured surface; stacks 10 high.
- Flash-R: Armchair with rattan texture.
- Antares: Armless, rattan-textured; stacks 10 high.
- Louise: Tilia's lightest chair; stacks 8 high.
- Siesta Diva: Armchair in glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene.
Rattan-textured surfaces
Rattan-look polypropylene chairs keep the woven feel but are much easier to clean than real weave. They wipe clean with a damp cloth and can also be used outdoors.
Between terrace and dining room
In hotels where breakfast moves to the terrace in summer, choosing outdoor-suitable models reduces the need for a separate terrace set. The "outdoor" icon and materials table on product pages help here.
